Coco LaChine

Coco LaChine has been involved with the International Court Council (ICC) and the International Court System (ICS) for over 40 years and received numerous honors and accolades. Among the accomplishments she is most proud of are serving on the Council for over 25 years, chairing the Jose Honors and the Stonewall Wall of Honors; consistently attending coronations throughout the United States and several Canadian coronations each year, including the inaugural Canadian Wall of Honour; chairing and producing the 40th, 45th, and 50th Anniversary celebrations of the International Court System. Coco is one of the original members of the ICC and was named by Empress I Jose as one of her original heirs.

Outside of the ICC and ICS, Coco is also proud of the leadership and advocacy work she has accomplished across the United States. Some of her other LGBTQ+ community involvements include: Chair of the West Hollywood Transgender Advisory Board and the WEHO Transgender Day of Remembrance; first drag and longest-tenured Board Member of the NYC Lesbian & Gay Community Center; Board Member of GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation); participant in GLAAD's "Images" Subway Poster Campaign during Stonewall 25; National Board Member of the Millennium March on Washington; and Board Member of Gay Games IV in New York City. Coco was one of 20 selected nationally to participate in the National LGBT Leadership Training by the Tim Gill Foundation.

Locally, Coco is a member of the Imperial Court of New York (ICNY) since it’s inception in 1986 and is a permanent member of the Board; and has served as its President for numerous terms. The ICNY honored her with creating the Coco LaChine Student Scholarship.

Coco LaChine was selected as one of the inaugural Out Magazine 100, has been featured in several drag photography books, and has been included in at least five LGBT literary works. She has also appeared in a few Hollywood feature films, including To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995).

Coco makes her home in historic Greenwich Village, New York City.
